Are You Donating Blood ?

Do’s
  • Eat a wholesome meal rich in iron about 2-3 hrs before donating blood.
  • Drink more water / juice during day.
  • Avoid exercise for the rest of the day.
  • Do not drive at least 2 hours.
  • After donation you can go for your routine work.
  • You can donate again after completion of 3 months.
  • Do tell others about your good deed, it will encourage others to donate for the noble cause.
   

Don’ts

  • Fatty foods
  • Don’t consume alcohol at least 24 hrs prior to blood donation.
  • Don’t rush through juice and cookies immediately after donating blood.
  • Avoid vigorous games like cricket, weight lifting and any other adventurous sports for 24 hrs after donation.
  • Don’t smoke immediately before or within 1 hr after you donate blood to avoid light-headedness.
  • Don’t remove the band-aid next day.
